Sunday, Silent Sunday

Silence is the word today, and that is a good thing. I am starting to get the impression there is more going on behind the scenes than we know. Again there is much to be said about the state of negotiations when you look at the casual nature of all the parties involved.

They aren't meeting until Tuesday or maybe even Wednesday at the earliest. When you consider the amount of work to do to finish the CBA between a deal in principle and a press conference (7 to 10 days I've been told) and we are ten days from the June 15th deadline you get a pretty clear picture..

According to one source, "If the sponsors know that all that is left is the ratification process then June 15th could be a soft deadline."

Another source, "There will absolutely be a press conference in June. Really we are looking at a two part process. The negotiation period and the ratification period."

I would like to thank the Phantoms and Wolves for giving me a double overtime play-off game last night! The talent on those two teams is outstanding and last night's game was the closest to NHL hockey that I have seen in a long time...

I will be holding a chat now at 10:00 am in the main room for a few minutes...
