Oddities

Nothing more fun than Hockey conspiracy theory to get us through these days where we should be talking conference finals....

No news yet from the days meeting, but two NHL players and 1 reader of the blog just pointed this out... "For the past couple months the NHLPA web site had along with all their player focus articles on their home-page, they had a link to see their most recent proposal....it had been there ever since they made their first proposal many months ago. I find today that this link is now gone...Could this mean that they have presented a new proposal to the league today? or that the league has presented one that they have accepted, or rather accepted the framework of?"

A NHL player usually silent said he talked to one of the guys in the room and there is much more going on today than they are letting on....again, these are all just rumors, but that's what we do here...

Further a source told me, espn.com had the following: "At least one prominent player was invited to join Wednesday's discussions between the NHL and the NHLPA in New York, ESPN's Darren Pang has learned. The player was invited Tuesday evening, after the day's meetings had concluded. While there is speculation the PA may have summoned players to participate in the "sub-issues" negotiations, it's likely his attendance is in relation to the formation of a competition committee, which would need to be included in a new CBA"...The speculation of course would be it would be Steve Yzerman...good friends with Panger....

I don't have many solid facts to base this on, but my gut continues to tell me something important is going on...something beyond what the press was told....And if it is, both sides should remain silent and get this thing done...
