Buyout and Impasse

It is interesting that there is an article out claiming that the NHL buyout attempt still has legs.... http://business.bostonherald.com/businessNews/view.bg?articleid=75836&format=&page=1
It has had legs all along, and this guy almost nailed the off the record info that has been moving from reporter to reporter...Basically the word is that the Bain group is recruiting the rich owners that would never sell to join them and then go a purchase the owners that do want out...I really could see this happening if everything blows up one more time....which is also something that could happen...

A top hockey writer also gave me this view that the impasse concept is being misrepresented all around...

"People really don't have a true understanding of impasse. You don't seek Impasse through the courts. You simply declare impasse and then players would have to seek court remedy to prevent the NHL from opening for business. By giving up over $1 billion in salary, the players have
essentially made their case. The league's position: Would players have given up that much money and would have owners sacrificed this much if we weren't at impasse?"

More later...

These are rumors and speculation...not intended to be viewed as fact.
